I’m a mom to a curious, energetic 5-year-old boy, and like many parents, I’ve spent countless hours searching for products that actually live up to their promises. Over time, I realized how overwhelming that search can be so I started this blog to help other parents cut through the noise. While I don’t personally use every product I mention, I take my research seriously. Each recommendation is the result of extensive comparison, expert insights, parent reviews, and careful consideration of safety, quality, and practicality. Whether it’s baby gear, toddler tools, or preschool picks, I share what I would genuinely consider for my own family and why. My goal is to save you time, reduce decision fatigue, and offer thoughtful, honest content that supports your parenting journey. If I can help you feel more confident about the choices you make for your child, then this space is doing exactly what it was meant to do.

Best organic skincare for babies and toddlers that truly works, offering gentle, chemical free and effective products for delicate young skin.

Okay, let’s talk about something I wish more moms were chatting about at playdates or preschool pickup: Earth Mama Organics. If you haven’t heard of them yet, you’re not alone, most of the moms I know hadn’t either, which honestly surprised me. Because once you try their stuff, you’ll wonder where it’s been all your mom life.

So what is Earth Mama?

Earth Mama has been around for over 20 years, creating obsessively clean, herbal-based care for moms, babies, and honestly, the whole family. The products were formulated by a nurse and herbalist (which I love), and they blend old-school herbal remedies with modern research.

We’re talking organic herbal teas, balms, baby lotions, sunscreen, castile soaps- basically everything you wish existed when your baby had that weird rash or your own skin felt like sandpaper during pregnancy.

My Favorite: The Calming Lavender Baby Lotion

This one’s a staple in our house. Earth Mama’s Calming Lavender Baby Lotion is marketed for babies, but it’s one of those products that the whole family ends up using. It’s packed with organic calendula, rooibos, shea butter, aloe, and oils and it smells like this gentle mix of lavender and vanilla that’s not overpowering. Just calming and sweet.

I live in NYC, and our winters are long and dry. Our skin, especially the kids’, takes a hit every year, so using a lotion after every bath isn’t just a “nice to have”… it’s necessary. And when you’re using something that often, you really want to feel good about what’s going on your child’s skin. This one checks all the boxes.

One of my favorite parts? My son actually enjoys the whole lotion routine. He likes the feel of it, and since the scent isn’t overpowering or artificial, it doesn’t bother him at all. It’s become a calm little moment we share after bath time and I’ll take all the peaceful moments I can get.

Quick heads-up: Some customers mentioned issues with the pump bottle not working well but I haven’t had that problem yet, but just something to know. Also, it’s a little on the pricey side, but personally? I find it worth it for how gentle and clean it is.

Other Earth Mama Products I Use (and Love)

Since we’re here, let me just mention a couple of other products from Earth Mama that have earned a permanent spot in our bathroom cabinet:

  • Baby Face Nose & Cheek Balm – If your little one gets dry, red skin around their nose or cheeks (especially in colder months), this is such a gentle, soothing fix. I’ve even used it on my own face during the dry winter months.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for safe, natural products that actually work and don’t smell like a medicine cabinet then Earth Mama is definitely worth checking out and if you’re looking for more summer essentials for little ones, I also shared some of our favorite picks in my post about the Best non-toxic Sunscreens for Kids. Finding a sunscreen that actually protects well while still being gentle on sensitive skin can honestly feel overwhelming, especially with so many ingredients parents are trying to avoid. In that post, I focused on mineral-based sunscreens, kid-friendly formulas, and options that are easier to apply on busy beach, playground, and pool days. Pediatric experts and organizations like the EWG often recommend mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide for children because they sit on the skin instead of being absorbed like many chemical sunscreens.
